Union Investment has extended its lease agreement with HIL Heeresinstandsetzungslogistik GmbH for around 8,680 m² of office space in Bonn-Hardtberg by ten years. In addition, due to an increased demand for space, HIL has leased a further 2,170 m² for ten years. The company has been a tenant at Josef-Wirmer-Straße 2-8 since 2005. The building has been part of the portfolio of the real estate special fund UII GermanM since 2016.

“This successful extension of a lease for a further ten years not only means a potential total term of up to 30 years, but also impressively demonstrates the value of long-term lease partnerships in attractive, functioning office properties and underlines the importance of sustainable asset management and the continuous cultivation of trusting tenant relationships,” says Sven Lintl, Head of Asset Management Germany at Union Investment.

The office property is located in the western part of Bonn’s urban area, which is strongly characterized by office settlements. Numerous federal ministries still have their offices in the vicinity of the building today. The city centre can be reached in around 15 minutes by car.

The core services of the federally owned HIL GmbH are the planning, control and implementation of maintenance services for almost all military land systems of the Bundeswehr. As a partner and integral part of the Bundeswehr’s logistics system, HIL GmbH, which currently has around 3000 employees and is headquartered in Bonn-Hardtberg, has been providing this core service since 2005 in close cooperation with the military maintenance staff, the defence technology industry and the defence technology medium-sized companies.
