The VIVIT Group has acquired an office complex at Duisburg’s Inner Harbour. The investment and real estate manager and portfolio developer, which specialises in office, residential and commercial properties, has thus secured another strategically favourable location with high development potential.
The property on the corner of Schifferstraße and Schwanentor was previously used by the company itself and was completely vacated after a global logistics company moved out. The background was a change of location of the logistics company within Duisburg’s inner harbour.
The ensemble consists of two interconnected building sections and comprises around 3,500 square metres of usable space, spread over five upper floors and a roof terrace. The property is complemented by a green inner courtyard with access to the harbour basin and a jetty. In addition, over 100 car parking spaces are available.
“With this acquisition, we are securing a property in one of the most exciting locations in Duisburg with considerable development potential in the portfolio,” says Carl Jonas Schippel, Managing Partner of the VIVIT Group. “Duisburg’s inner harbour and also the area around Calaisplatz have developed into an attractive urban location in recent years, which is particularly interesting for our portfolio.”
Duisburg’s Inner Harbour is an established and popular office location and is considered a showcase project of urban industrial culture. Several bus and train stops are within walking distance of the building ensemble, and Duisburg Central Station can be reached in a few minutes via public transport. The motorways in the direction of the Ruhr area, Rhineland and the Netherlands can be reached within a few minutes’ drive.
The transaction was advised by Colliers International.
