Global real estate services provider CBRE has advised Finnish paper group UPM on the sale of a 52-hectare plot of land in Plattling in the district of Deggendorf. The buyer is Bayernhafen, a holding company of the Free State of Bavaria. The purchase price was not disclosed. So far, there is a paper mill on the site, which will be closed at the end of 2023 and consists of various buildings built between 1982 and 2007. In the future, a bimodal logistics and industrial park for a large number of companies is to be built on the site. The site at Nicolausstraße 7 has its own rail connection and can be reached without traffic lights in less than five minutes (three kilometres) from the A92 Plattling-West junction.
“We are very pleased to have successfully completed the sale of the 520,000 square meter property. In the future, a modern industrial area is to be created here, partially incorporating the existing buildings, which will offer settlement options for a wide variety of companies due to its extraordinary scope and bimodal connections,” says Maximilian Sänger, Senior Director & Team Leader Munich Industrial & Logistics Leasing at CBRE.
