The new police station in Frechen has been completed. OSMAB Holding AG handed over the new police station building in the Frechen NEOBEL district to the Rhein-Erft-Kreis district police authority at the end of June as planned. With the symbolic handover of the keys, the furnishing phase now begins: By the end of September, the police will prepare the new premises technically and organizationally for service operations. The new police station will then start operations.
“The timely completion of a project of this magnitude is not a matter of course. We are all the more pleased to now be able to hand over a building to the police that combines modern working conditions with high functionality and sustainability,” says Anton Mertens, CEO of OSMAB Holding AG.
Frank Rock, District Administrator of the Rhein-Erft district, adds: “With the new police station building, we are creating excellent conditions for modern police work in the Rhein-Erft district. The building is a strong commitment to an efficient police force and public safety in our region.”
Project successfully completed
Numerous public institutions and private companies were involved in the planning and implementation of the police station building. These include in particular the city of Frechen, the Rhein-Erft-Kreis district police authority, the Cologne district government, the North Rhine-Westphalia State Office for Central Police Services (LZPD), the general contractor GOLDBECK as well as numerous specialist planners and executing companies.
“We are very pleased that we were able to complete this construction project on schedule and hand it over to the district police authority. This was only possible thanks to the trusting and constructive cooperation with the city of Frechen, the Rhein-Erft district and the district police authority,” says Aldijana Kolic, Managing Partner of GOLDOCT Real Estate GmbH.

Sustainably built for modern police work
The new building, which covers around 2,500 square metres, was specially tailored to the requirements of the police. The building offers space on three full floors for the police station, which is manned around the clock, as well as modern office and administrative areas. The location is complemented by a secure outdoor area with underground parking and parking spaces.
The building was constructed in accordance with the energy-efficient KfW 40 standard. A photovoltaic system on the roof, air-to-water heat pumps and a ventilation system with heat recovery ensure resource-saving operation and low energy costs. The energy concept helps to permanently reduce operating costs and resource consumption.
Quartier NEOBEL continues to grow
With the completion of the new police station, the climate-friendly NEOBEL district has reached another important milestone. In the coming years, the development of the area will be further advanced. Among other things, a medical center with gastronomy for local care, offers for assisted living and a parking garage are planned.
With the police station, another central component of the quarter has been realised. Step by step, a mixed-use urban quarter is being created that combines public infrastructure, working, living and local amenities and contributes to Frechen’s development in the long term.
