GreenPlaces celebrates topping-out ceremony for sustainable and flexible commercial space in Mannheim

Yesterday (20 May), GreenPlaces Deutschland Asset Management GmbH celebrated the topping-out ceremony for its new commercial location in Mannheim. At Radeberger Straße 11 in the Vogelstang district, 30 modular commercial units are being built in a compact building on a plot of around 7,200 square metres. They are particularly suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises as well as start-ups from the trades, services and production. The usable space, which can be used as a workshop, warehouse, office or showroom, among other things, adds up to approx. 4,400 square metres. The areas are to be ready for occupancy in autumn 2026. GreenPlaces is investing around ten million euros in the project.

GreenPlaces develops and operates modular business parks in solid timber construction. They are characterized by a high degree of energy efficiency and flexibility. The two-storey modules each comprise 139 to 151 square metres of usable space and can be purchased individually or rented, but can also be combined to form larger units. This model thus supports young companies in particular in their future expansion: If they need additional space after a few years, they can rent neighboring rooms if they are available. This eliminates the time-consuming search for a new location.

Each unit is equipped with a large roller door, its own entrance and two outdoor parking spaces. Photovoltaic systems on the roof and heat pumps support a fossil-free energy supply. The location at Radeberger Straße 11 in the TAYLOR industrial estate is very well connected by public transport as well as by highway.

Markus Eberhard, Managing Director of GreenPlaces Germany Asset Management, says: “With its focus on innovation, sustainability and urban quality, the TAYLOR industrial park offers ideal conditions for our concept. GreenPlaces creates flexible, energy-efficient commercial space for small and medium-sized enterprises – and thus fits perfectly into the modern and future-oriented development of the district and the entire city. We are pleased to be able to make a contribution to the further economic revival and diversity of the area with our location.”

Achim Judt, Managing Director of MWS Projektentwicklungsgesellschaft, adds: “TAYLOR stands for a new understanding of commercial areas: urban, sustainable, green and with a high quality of stay. It is precisely such innovative usage concepts that we want to locate here. GreenPlaces ideally complements this approach because the project creates flexible space for companies and at the same time provides important impetus for the sustainable development of the location with its timber construction and sustainable energy concept.”

With the new Mannheim location, GreenPlaces is continuing its expansion strategy. By 2030, the network of locations in Germany and Switzerland is expected to grow to around 80; a large part of this is to be built in Germany. When choosing new locations, the focus is on economically strong regions in Baden-Württemberg, Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate.
