Bob W opens new serviced apartments in the Alte Post in Dortmund and brings a locally anchored hospitality concept to the historic building in the city center.
Aroundtown has completed the conversion of serviced apartments in the Alte Post building on Königswall in Dortmund. The former office building has been completely gutted and converted into modern apartments that combine a high level of living comfort with the service and flexibility of a hospitality concept. More than 50 serviced apartments have been created, which have been leased on a long-term basis to the hospitality operator Bob W. Bob W has signed a 15-year lease for the space.
With reliable hotel-level standards, the functionality of an apartment and a technology-enabled guest journey, Bob W enables both short and longer stays without the need for a classic hotel concept. This creates added value for guests, owners and the surrounding district.
Each studio and one-bedroom serviced apartment is fully furnished and has a fully equipped kitchen as well as an en-suite bathroom. The apartments are complemented by a spacious lobby lounge, co-working areas, a coffee corner, a pantry and a launderette. This makes them suitable for guests who spend only a few nights in the city as well as for longer professional stays or project-related assignments.

The completed conversion is an important step in the use-oriented development of the Alte Post into a mixed-use building and strengthens the location in a central location directly at Dortmund Central Station.
The serviced apartments fit into Aroundtown’s mixed-use strategy of making existing properties in central urban locations more resilient and value-creating in the long term through complementary uses. They complement classic office locations with flexible use, enliven the environment even outside of classic office hours and open up attractive long-term earnings prospects.
