Aroundtown has fully equipped its portfolio in the Netherlands with Smartvatten’s digital technology for monitoring and analyzing water consumption. This marks another important milestone in the sustainable development of the company’s real estate portfolio. Following the complete BREEAM certification of its Dutch office portfolio, Aroundtown has now also fully digitalized its water infrastructure. The implementation of Smartvatten enables transparent water consumption monitoring, helping to reduce water usage while allowing leaks to be detected and addressed immediately.
Over the past two years, Aroundtown has also been gradually introducing Smartvatten technology across its German portfolio. Additional properties are being equipped on an ongoing basis as the portfolio is progressively expanded.
Founded in Finland in 2013, Smartvatten provides data-driven solutions that help property owners monitor, understand, and potentially reduce water consumption.
The portfolio-wide implementation of Smartvatten across Aroundtown’s Dutch assets creates a significantly improved data foundation for managing water consumption in its buildings. While the entire portfolio has been equipped with Smartvatten technology at the main water meters, the Newton House, Beta Building, and Dalí properties have also been fitted with sub-meters. Continuous collection and analysis of water consumption data enables targeted identification of efficiency opportunities and optimization of operational processes. At the same time, irregularities in water consumption can be detected at an early stage, allowing appropriate maintenance and repair measures to be initiated promptly.
In addition, the solution contributes to improved sustainability ratings and enhances transparency for both tenants and investors.
