On July 23, 2026, the building committee of the city of Starnberg passed the approval resolution for the planned Museum Quarter at the “Cradle of Starnberg” with a clear majority. The project has thus reached an important milestone in the ongoing land-use plan procedure.
This rapid progress in the procedure was made possible above all by the constructive cooperation of the project managers of the Starnberg city administration and the deputy mayor Angelika Kammerl. The path taken is particularly remarkable: The city had the development plan drawn up in close coordination with the private developer; the building administration has concentrated primarily on the examination and release of the planning documents.
The project on Bahnhofstraße, initiated by AHAM Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH, includes the development of an urban quarter with apartments, commercial uses and publicly accessible areas. It is intended to make a significant contribution to the further development of the central area of the city of Starnberg. The aim is to close an urban gap between Bahnhofsplatz and Lake Starnberg. Part of the ensemble is a publicly accessible terrace, which is intended to strengthen the quality of stay in the city centre in the long term. The buildings will be equipped with green roofs and photovoltaic systems. The project sponsor and owner is AHAM Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH, whose shareholders Michael Ehret and Stefan Klein have developed the building rights with the support of e+k Development GmbH. The realisation of the project is to begin shortly after the public disclosure.
The public display of the planning documents is scheduled from 17 August to 29 September 2026. During this period, citizens and public bodies will have the opportunity to view the plans and provide relevant information.
“The approval decision is an important step on the way to the realization of the project. After around four and a half years of intensive planning and coordination, we see our approach of promoting high-quality and sustainable development for this central location confirmed. We are looking forward to the dialogue within the framework of public participation,” says Heiko Menzel, Head of Project Planning at e+k Development GmbH.
