DAVE mourns the loss of co-founder R. Dieter Limbach
The real estate industry mourns the death of R. Dieter Limbach, who passed away on 18 March 2026 at the age of 89. With him, the industry has lost a formative entrepreneurial personality, a committed networker and one of the co-founders of DAVE.
Limbach founded R. Dieter Limbach Immobilien KG in 1959 and developed the company over decades into one of the leading brokerage houses in the Bonn/Rhine-Sieg region. In addition, he was committed to the interests of the real estate industry and the owners in a variety of ways. In the 1990s, Limbach was vice president of the Ring Deutscher Makler (RDM), today’s IVD.
For almost three decades, he also had a significant influence on Haus & Grund Bonn/Rhein-Sieg: From 1981 to 2010, he was a member of the Executive Board, 25 of them as Chairman. Since 2010, he has been listed as honorary chairman, a time that is internally referred to as the “Limbach era” and underlines his outstanding importance.
Limbach was also involved in many other ways: as an honorary expert in the appraisal committee of the Federal City of Bonn, as an honorary judge at the Cologne Fiscal Court and in various committees of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
As a co-founder, he was a formative personality within DAVE who stood for entrepreneurial foresight, integrity and responsibility. Wieland Münch, long-time companion, successor in the company and DAVE partner, pays tribute to him with the words: “With his death, we lose an outstanding personality. We will remember him gratefully.”
Münch, who began his professional career in Bonn in 1992, started at Limbach Immobilien in 2001 and was personally supported by Limbach , continues the company today: “I owe a lot to R. Dieter Limbach . I will continue to lead the company in his spirit.”
“With R. Dieter Limbach , the industry loses one of its formative personalities, whose work radiates far beyond the region,” concludes DAVE Managing Director René Husfeldt .
