bulwiengesa launches educational real estate initiative
Together with leading players in the real estate industry, bulwiengesa has launched the “Educational Real Estate Initiative”. The initiative began its work with a founding meeting in March 2026.
The aim of the initiative is to bring educational real estate more into the focus of the real estate market and to sustainably improve the framework conditions for private investment. The focus is in particular on cooperation with the public sector, the creation of more market transparency, the development of a reliable database and the development of joint impulses for politics, the market and society.
The initiative brings together key market players who are already actively involved in the development, financing and operation of educational real estate – including the role of long-term owners and landlords who ensure sustainable management and use of the properties. Deutsche Kreditbank AG, Drees & Sommer, GSK Stockmann, HIH Projektentwicklung, Hemsö, LHI Group, LBBW Immobilien and mondial KVG are participating as founding partners. Together, they cover essential areas along planning, financing, development and operation and bundle their experience in a structured exchange format for the first time.
“Educational real estate is a central component of the social infrastructure. At the same time, there is often a lack of transparency, reliable data and coordinated framework conditions between the public sector and private actors. With this initiative, we are creating a platform for joint dialogue in order to pool experience, create more orientation in the market and actively support the further development of this important segment,” says Sven Carstensen, Managing Director of bulwiengesa.
As the office, bulwiengesa coordinates the initiative, is responsible for data processing and the content of studies and communication formats. The initiative is open to other market participants who would like to actively participate in the further development of the segment.
