GARBE Industrial, one of the leading developers, providers and managers of logistics, industrial and commercial real estate in Germany and Europe, and BREMER Projektentwicklung have sold the jointly developed multi-user park in the Meiderich district of Duisburg to Redevco. The closing took place on 16 September 2026. The purchase price was not disclosed.
On the former “Zeus site”, GARBE Industrial and BREMER Projektentwicklung have completed three buildings with a total area of almost 29,500 square metres. For this purpose, the former steel industry wasteland, which covers around 56,000 square metres, was renovated and prepared for a new commercial use. BREMER was both a joint venture partner and a general contractor. The tenants are mainly from the e-commerce sector. “With the sale, we are successfully completing the development of the former industrial wasteland into a modern multi-user park. The fact that the transaction was signed within the six-week exclusivity phase shows on the one hand the great interest in the property and the potential of the location and, on the other hand, the high level of professionalism of both parties in carrying out the transaction,” says Peter Bartholomäus, CIO at GARBE Industrial.
The site is well connected to the national road network: The A 59 runs in the immediate vicinity, the Duisburg-Nord motorway junction with connection to the A 42 is only a few hundred metres away. The A 2 can also be reached via the A 42. 6,380 photovoltaic modules with a total output of 2.647 megawatt peak are installed on the roof surfaces. The three buildings are heated with heat pumps and do not require fossil fuels. For the multi-user park, GARBE Industrial and BREMER are aiming for certification according to the Gold Standard of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
“In this project, we were able to closely interlink development and construction. As a joint venture partner and general contractor, decisions could be coordinated and implemented quickly and economically. This was a great advantage, especially for a multi-user project with different usage requirements, which was created on a complex brownfield,” says Bernd Jungholt, Managing Director at BREMER Projektentwicklung.
“The multi-user park in Duisburg is a strong addition to our German logistics portfolio and strengthens our presence in the Rhine-Ruhr region, which is an important core market with long-term potential for us. We hope for further joint projects with GARBE Industrial,” says Camila Malzkorn, Head of Transaction Management at Redevco. The joint venture was advised on the transaction by GT Law, Colliers and HLB Stückmann.
