GARBE Industrial Real Estate France (“GARBE Industrial”), a leading specialist in logistics and industrial real estate, is expanding its France portfolio with a strategically located brownfield location in the Centre-Val de Loire region, south of the Paris metropolitan region. The former industrial site, which was acquired off-market and covers around 6.5 hectares, comprises an existing building with an area of around 30,000 square metres. The site has very good transport links with direct access to the main national motorways and thus offers optimal conditions for logistical and industrial uses. The acquisition brings the number of properties managed by GARBE Industrial in France to nine.
The acquisition is part of GARBE Industrial’s expanded investment strategy, which is increasingly focused on brownfield locations with development potential. The property, a former printing plant, is to be modernized and used for logistical purposes. The aim is to create a sustainable property that meets high environmental standards and takes into account aspects such as energy and space efficiency as well as reduced environmental impact.
“The acquisition is in line with GARBE Industrial’s new revitalization strategy in France. It underlines our ambition to transform former industrial sites into properties with high ecological standards that are already geared to the future requirements of logistics and industrial companies,” says Michael Vidamant, Managing Director at GARBE Industrial Real Estate France. The acquisition was carried out with the support of the notary’s office of Lasaygues and the engineering firm Ecor Ingénierie.
With this acquisition, GARBE Industrial is further expanding its activities in France. In Pléchâtel near Rennes, the company recently completed a modern logistics centre. The project comprises around 25,800 square metres of lettable logistics space as well as additional office space and was realised on a plot of land measuring around 57,500 square metres along the Rennes-Nantes axis in western France. The location has good connections to several regional economic centres. The project is certified “Excellent” according to BREEAM.
