Birgit Dietl-Benzin and Jörn Joseph new members of the vdp Executive Board
At today’s General Meeting of the Association of German Pfandbrief Banks (vdp) in Frankfurt am Main, Gero Bergmann, who has been President of the Board of Management of BayernLB since 2023, was re-elected. He will thus remain vdp president for another two years. He has been a member of the vdp Executive Board since 2021.
“The trust of the member institutions means a lot to me,” said Bergmann after his election and promised: “I will continue to hold the office of president with great energy and a clear will to shape the future.” As challenges of his term of office, which is now beginning, he named, among other things, the housing shortage, especially in the metropolises, plans for the socialization of Berlin apartments and the ever-increasing banking regulation. “As Pfandbrief banks, we will be involved in the discussion on the topics that affect us in the usual constructive and critical manner. In this way, we will continue to point out to policymakers and supervisors how positive an increase in the performance of banks can have on Europe’s strength,” said Bergmann.
As usual, the election of the vdp Executive Board for the new two-year term of office also took place at this year’s General Meeting. Eleven members were re-elected. Dr. Matthias Danne, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of DekaBank, and Thomas Köntgen, Deputy CEO of Deutsche Pfandbriefbank (pbb), did not stand for re-election due to their imminent departure from their institutions.
Birgit Dietl-Benzin, member of the Management Board of DekaBank, and Jörn Joseph, member of the Management Board of Deutsche Pfandbriefbank (pbb), were newly elected to the Management Board.
