Following the successful buyback of the shares held by its previous investor, Auctus Capital, Gorgeous Smiling Hotels (GSH) is undergoing a strategic realignment. Under the joint leadership of Heiko Grote and Andreas Erben, the hotel group is focusing on operational efficiency, digitalisation and further growth. As part of the financial restructuring, all bank loans have been repaid.
The new management structure provides for a clear division of responsibilities: Grote is responsible for day-to-day operations and the further development of the hotel businesses. Erben focuses on finance, development and the Group’s strategic expansion.
“Our staff are the foundation of our success. We want to strengthen our teams, optimise operational processes and work together to shape a corporate culture characterised by trust, responsibility and genuine hospitality,” said Grote.
A key focus of the reorganisation is the use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies. An AI-powered telephone assistant is already supporting guest communications in 13 languages. Further digital solutions are set to streamline booking, payment and check-in processes, relieve staff of routine tasks and enhance the guest experience.
Positive trends are also already becoming apparent from an operational perspective: compared with the same period last year, occupancy rates have risen by more than 10 per cent and RevPAR by over 4.5 per cent.
With 77 hotels and 7,623 rooms currently in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy, GSH has a broad foundation for further growth. The portfolio comprises international brands from Wyndham, Hilton, IHG and Accor, as well as the company’s own hotel brands. Five hotel conversions have already been completed, and a further six confirmed projects are in the pipeline.
“We have laid the economic and strategic foundations to ensure the consistent further development of Gorgeous Smiling Hotels. Technology and artificial intelligence are opening up new opportunities for us to work more efficiently whilst improving the quality of our service for guests. Our aim is to achieve sustainable growth without losing sight of personal hospitality,” said Erben.
