The battery storage project in Remscheid (North Rhine-Westphalia) was developed by the joint venture partners Purpel Energy and Green FOX Energy to construction readiness. Construction has started. The plant has a capacity of 5.15 MW and a storage capacity of 12.22 MWh. The connection to the power grid is planned for summer 2026.
The battery storage system complements the existing energy infrastructure at the site, enables a more predictable use of renewable energy generation and supports regional grid operation. For the Remscheid site, this creates an additional opportunity to efficiently integrate renewable energy.
“With the storage system, we are creating additional flexibility in the electricity system. It integrates renewable energies and stabilizes the system as a whole,” says Tobias Aulich, Managing Director of Green FOX Energy.
The storage facility in Remscheid is part of Green FOX Energy’s growing storage portfolio. While construction has already started at this location, other projects are under development throughout Germany. The company is thus continuing its strategy of systematically expanding modern energy storage systems and making reliable contributions to a secure and clean energy supply in the long term.
