Highest point reached: Berlin’s FÜRST urban quarter celebrates a project milestone – structural work to be completed before the end of the year

The FÜRST urban development on Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm has reached an important milestone on the road to completion: with the installation of a mast, the high-rise has reached its highest point at 115 metres. Furthermore, the entire structural work is due to be completed by mid-December 2026. To mark the occasion, FÜRST and its partners WBRE, Geplahn-t, Taurecon, Dunman and CELLS jointly celebrated the completion of this phase of the project with a party. The focus was on thanking the workers on site, the companies involved and everyone who contributed to the successful completion of this stage.

“With the highest point now reached, the new urban quarter is continuing to take shape. The project is, in a sense, on the home straight. I would like to extend my special thanks to the workers on site. It is their daily dedication and craftsmanship that have made this milestone possible,” says Josip Kardun, CEO of FÜRST. “By the end of January 2027, the last four remaining construction cranes will finally have been dismantled one by one. Then, for the first time, the full scale of the new urban quarter in City West will be fully apparent. The FÜRST buildings, led by the 23-storey tower, will in future define the cityscape at one of Berlin’s most prominent addresses.”

Once the structural work phase is complete, efforts will focus on the interior fit-out of the individual buildings and the installation of technical systems. At the same time, the façades, building services and high-quality interior finishes will be completed. This will bring the future use of the space – for offices, catering, retail, cultural and hospitality facilities – further into focus. Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2027, as planned.

The FÜRST is being developed on the site of the former Ku’damm-Karree, in the immediate vicinity of the Zoological Garden, and is emerging as one of Berlin’s most modern urban districts. More than 40 per cent of the space has now been let.
