In Müllheim im Markgräflerland, south of Freiburg im Breisgau, Panattoni has acquired a 44,000 square metre plot of land to develop a new logistics and industrial park. Germany’s largest developer of logistics, industrial and commercial real estate plans to start realising 25,160 m2 of logistics space here in Q1 2027, supplemented by 1,700 m2 of mezzanine space and 1,320 m2 of office space. The first rental space will be available for tenants as early as the end of 2027, and the complete completion of City Park Müllheim is scheduled for Q1 2028.
In the past, parts of the site were used as a production facility for sanitary components. As part of the revitalisation process, the existing building will be completely dismantled and the area will be put to a new use.
The planned new building will be equipped with photovoltaic systems, and a heat pump will provide fossil-free heating for the entire building. The aim is to achieve DGNB Gold certification.
The location in the border triangle of Switzerland, France and Germany benefits from excellent motorway connections: the A5 towards Basel and Karlsruhe can be reached in less than 10 minutes via a federal road. In addition, there are fast connections to important motorways in France and Switzerland. This results in optimal conditions for national and international supply chains.
The surrounding economic region is characterised by a broadly diversified mix of industries and existing locations of important economic sectors such as the food industry, e-commerce, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, logistics services and the automotive supply industry.
Martin Löffler, mayor of the city of Müllheim in the Markgräflerland, emphasizes: “We very much welcome the project and were happy to grant all the necessary exemptions in the responsible committee. As the most important business location in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district, we see it as our responsibility to strengthen the Markgräflerland as an innovative industrial location. In our municipal administration association, we are working to promote the region’s economy across borders.”
