Sunday Hotels is taking over the operation of three resort hotels on the Baltic Sea coast and in the Mecklenburg Lake Plateau, located in Rügen and Rheinsberg, as well as two city hotels in Saarbrücken and Bielefeld.
Aroundtown has successfully handed over five hotel properties from its portfolio to a new tenant. Under the Sunday Hotels brand, the global travel-tech company PRISM (formerly OYO) will operate the Sunday Resort Rügen in Sagard with 230 rooms, the Sunday Resort Marina Wolfsbruch in Rheinsberg with 207 rooms, the Sunday Resort Hafendorf Rheinsberg with 176 hotel rooms and a wide range of holiday homes, the Sunday Hotel Saarbrücken with 100 rooms, and the Sunday Hotel Bielefeld with 119 rooms.
The technology-driven hospitality platform PRISM already operates several hotel properties from the Aroundtown portfolio. The lease of the additional hotels continues the existing collaboration and ensures continuity in both operations and positioning of the properties.
All three resort hotels are located in prominent tourist destinations and are well-established sites within Germany’s holiday regions. They benefit from their integration into nature-oriented surroundings and their role as attractive tourist destinations. The Sunday Resort Rügen in Sagard is set in a spacious environment near Jasmund National Park, home to UNESCO World Heritage beech forests, and offers guests a wide range of leisure and recreational activities on site. The Sunday Resort Marina Wolfsbruch is located directly on the Mecklenburg Lake District and features its own marina with numerous berths, making it particularly attractive for water sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. The Sunday Resort Hafendorf Rheinsberg is situated directly on Lake Rheinsberg and, in addition to access to the lake landscape, offers a picturesque harbor, giving the location a distinctive blend of leisure and recreational appeal.
Ideal for business travel, family stays, and weekend trips, Sunday Hotel Bielefeld combines proximity to the city center with a quiet park setting and offers views over Bielefeld from its elevated position on Johannisberg. Sunday Hotel Saarbrücken is located in the heart of the city and combines a central location with various on-site leisure facilities, including a shared swimming pool and a tennis court.
The change opens up opportunities for the locations and their surroundings and can provide positive momentum for regional tourism.
“We are excited to welcome PRISM as tenants across these hotels. Their innovative approach to hospitality aligns well with our vision of unlocking the full potential of our portfolio and delivering sustainable growth”, says Marije Bekker, COO Hotel Division at Aroundtown.
