The Terrot Group has announced the opening of Maison Honnel, a new 4-star hotel with 42 rooms and suites, located at 33 Rue de Surène in Paris’s 8th arrondissement. The hotel opened its doors on 9 September 2026. Since 2017, Terrot has been expanding its hotel business with a strategy based on the repositioning and revitalisation of existing Parisian property assets. In 2022, the Group acquired the former Hôtel du Ministère, ideally situated in the heart of the Central Business District, between the Élysée Palace, Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré, La Madeleine and the Champs-Élysées. Its transformation is fully in line with the strategy pursued by Terrot: to unlock the property’s potential by repositioning it sustainably within its surroundings. Today, the hotel embodies an elegant and warm vision of Parisian hospitality.

“We believe that the finest hotels of tomorrow are often already built. With Maison Honnel, we wanted to reveal the history and uniqueness of this building rather than erase them, and thus breathe new life into it, in harmony with its neighbourhood,” says Samuel GELRUBIN, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Terrot Group.

Maison Honnel also offers several spaces open to the neighbourhood, designed to extend the hotel experience: Carlo, a trattoria and pizzeria; a bar dedicated to the Aperitivo; a Wine Room available for private hire; and a wellness area with a treatment room, sauna and fitness centre.

Another distinctive feature is Maison Honnel’s courtyard-facing building, which stands out for its Eiffel-style structure—a testament to its industrial and artisanal history—having once housed various trades linked to creativity and craftsmanship (a tailor’s workshop, a photography studio and a perfumer’s). The project prioritised the preservation and enhancement of the site’s existing qualities.

Terrot entrusted the interior design to Laune Architecture, whose approach favours a understated and timeless style, based on the use of natural materials (wood, mineral surfaces and a colour palette inspired by paper and mother-of-pearl). The 42 rooms and suites are designed in the style of Parisian interiors: bespoke joinery, furniture selected piece by piece, and careful attention to textiles and lighting; all of which contribute to an approach centred on the guest experience and the quality of their stay.

The hotel is managed by TERLIA, the hotel management subsidiary of the Terrot and Galia Groups, which devises the best hospitality strategy by drawing on its three-fold expertise in the fields of accommodation, catering and property.

“We believe that the finest hotels of tomorrow are often already built. With Maison Honnel, we wanted to reveal the history and unique character of this building rather than erase them, and thus breathe new life into it, in harmony with its neighbourhood,” says Samuel GELRUBIN, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Terrot Group
